Education

At it’s about time, we value lifelong learning. And in a rapidly changing world, we also appreciate the importance of lifelong unlearning. We recognise that rigid beliefs and ideas can grow brittle and unyielding. To support the mental flexibility and resilience to bend in life’s storms, we strive to create safe spaces where people with diverse perspectives can listen to each other and interconnect.

In practice, this means bringing together people from different backgrounds, generations, and cultures to dismantle hierarchies, silos, and stereotypes. In a world of accelerating change, what we truly need is not just to adapt, but to evolve, strengthening the networks that sustain us—because it is only together that we can create a future that works for all.

Growing the Future Together

At It’s About Time, we believe that learning should be alive with wonder, curiosity, and connection to the world around us. We are passionate about creating learning experiences that connect people to the natural world, spark curiosity, and inspire real change. Through creative lesson plans, nature connection workshops, and hands-on permaculture projects, we help schools and communities grow in ways that are both meaningful and fun.

Lesson Planning for Real-World Impact

Our approach to lesson planning is all about making learning an adventure, bringing students together to co-create, fostering curiosity and collaboration. We offer full school curriculum plans that integrate sustainability, community action, and connection to nature. These plans are designed to be flexible and adaptable, so schools can easily weave them into their existing framework.

Some examples of our lesson offerings include:

Alan’s World Curriculum: A dynamic, cross-year school curriculum centred around the natural world. Students follow the journey of an acorn (named Alan!) as it grows into a tree, while learning about ecosystems, food distribution, social justice, and community action. Over six years, students engage in real, hands-on projects like planting and caring for trees, mapping local food systems, and presenting their ideas to the local council.

Nature Connection for All Ages: From early years to senior students, we design lessons that bring nature into the classroom and beyond. Whether it’s exploring local ecosystems or learning about sustainability, our lessons make it clear how the world outside links to what goes on inside ourselves and our communities.

Other Offerings

In addition to our curriculum-based lessons, we offer a range of workshops that bring nature and creativity together in a fun, hands-on way. These workshops are perfect for schools or community groups who want to dive deeper into nature connection, well-being and permaculture. We can also provide:

Whole School Assemblies: These assemblies bring everyone together to reflect on the seasons, explore themes of climate change and sustainability, and encourage collaborative action. They’re designed to energise students, teachers, and staff, sparking a shared sense of purpose and community.

Permaculture for Schools: Teaching students the basics of permaculture and how it can be applied to their everyday lives—whether at school or home. We focus on sustainable practices, waste reduction, and the importance of local food systems.

Rooted in nature’s cycles and elements, our approach recognises the deep interconnection between personal, social, and planetary well-being.

It’s about connection. It’s about sharing. It’s about time.
